Debbie Ashpole

Debbie graduated from Macquarie University with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology. She is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist, a member of AGOSCI (The Australian Group Supporting Communication Inclusion) and has over 5 years of experience working with children with communication disorders. Before commencing her career as a speech pathologist, Debbie was a primary school teacher for many years.

Debbie’s experience includes working with children with autism, particularly those who are minimally speaking and require Alternative Augmentative Communication Systems (AAC). She also has experience working with children with language delays, stuttering, speech sound disorders, literacy difficulties, and global developmental delay. Debbie is passionate about helping children to communicate the best way they can and collaborating with families to assist their children in achieving their communication goals.

She is trained in Hanen: More Than Words, LAMP Words For Life, The Lidcombe Program, Executive Functioning, and Orofacial Myology. Orofacial Myology therapy can assist to restore normal strength and coordination of the muscles of the face, tongue, and jaw to ensure optimal functions such as breathing, chewing, swallowing and speaking.
